Tiombe Lockhart Crafts A Wavy New Video For "Let U Go"

Tiombe Lockhart Video

Tiombe Lockhart's new-wave R&B sound has been paired up with kaleidoscopic visuals to amplify the New York based artist's tracks off her new EP. As with previous videos ("Can't Get Enough" and "Gone" to name two) the former Cubic Zirconia member directed this one in collaboration with Thu Tran. Lockhart and Tran's latest joint effort is a spacey video for the nu-soul vocalists' single "Let U Go." Though her videos are never short of trippy, the "Let U Go" visuals seem to tighten Lockhart's vision, leaving us with an enchanting hallucinogenic lament. Lockhart parades her long blonde braids through pastel frames, giving her a mermaid-like quality that is innocent and dark all at once. When you put sex appeal and longing in a galactic ocean you get a unique ebb and flow that only Lockhart has produced to date.

"Let U Go" is the third single the singer released this year. Always coupled with visuals, it's very hard to overlook the synth-heavy sounds that Lockhart delivers. Under Fool's Gold Records, Lockhart had released an LP called Follow Your Heart with CZ, this year she's taking no prisoners with production from Hudson Mohawke as well as A$AP Ferg collaborator Snugsworth on the new EP. Whether she is caked up in glitter or flowing in the ocean tides, Tiombe Lockhart brings a quality and vision that diverges from the norm showing that she is truly an individual. Check it out the carefully crafted video below.
