MC's Veeay and Boldy James team with enigmatic producer and First Look Friday veteran EARDRUM to debut the brand new track "Play It Cool." The production follows Veeay's Speak Easy mixtape, the DEAF tape collaborative release from EARDRUM and The Decades Hat Co. and James' recent signing to Mass Appeal Records, which now boasts a roster including Run The Jewels. "Play It Cool" is a preliminary taste of what fans can expect from Veeay's forthcoming project Pieces, which finds him joining EARDRUM and The Decades in the lab to make magic all over again. Veeay worked closely with EARDRUM and Mark Ryan of the Bakery Boys to craft the beat - a lush number ripe for those avowed to blowing loud and cruising in the whip. Veeay wisely recruited rising Motor City MC Boldy James to round this joint out. James laid his verse and sent the track back with a heaping helping of midwest swagger - the perfect foil for the Paid In Full reference on the hook. If the finished product is a harbinger of what's to come, this project just might have the juice to become a classic. Check the track below to listen to "Play It Cool."
