Video: Erykah Badu x The Flaming Lips "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" [NSFW]
It's here! It's back! The video that launched a thousand WTFs when Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne tweeted out what appeared to be pics of a bukk-nekkid Erykah Badu earlier this week. Turns out Badu's little sister Nayrok was her body-double for the really-really nude shots (Fellas, let's be real. You're not gonna be remembering the first time you saw her face. You're going to be remembering the first time you saw her chocolate-y [bloody?] buttocks and breasts, bared in all their glory in a bathtub full of glitter and/or gooey cream). But there's also a few unmistakable shots of the real Erykah and she's still pretty nude, by normal-people standards. Which begs the question, will the real Erykah Badu please stand up? Seriously, about the music--the song is a haunting, feedback-y cover of Roberta Flack's signature jam (originally written by folk singer Ewan MacColl, FYI) rendering unto that tender ballad roughly what Jimi Hendrix' guitar brought to the national anthem. The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends, which includes this song as well the Lips working with Coldplay, Biz Markie and a grip more eclectic team-ups, drops digitally June 26th.
