Video: Nas, Santigold, Michael Kiwanuka, Jack White & Jay-Z Live At Hackney Weekend
BBC Radio 1 once again held their annual Big Weekend over these past two days. Set this time in London's Hackney Marshes, Europe's biggest free ticketed music event was not one of the humble sort, bursting with genre giants from Rihanna, David Guetta, deadmau5, Lana del Rey and Skream & Benga to Nas, Santigold, Michael Kiwanuka, Jack White and Jay-Z. To comfort those among you who were separated from the spectacle by one big body of water, we've compiled a selection of highlight performances. There's Nas' spirited "Daughters" performance (above), Santigold holding it down for the "Disparate Youth," Jigga bringing out his co-throneholder Kanye West, turning east London into Paris for some 8+ minutes, Kiwanuka giving the crowd a chance to catch their breath again, and the one-man White Stripe letting them sing that one guitar-riff for him (all after the jump). In case all of that isn't enough for you yet, you can find a batch of some atmospheric pictures over here.
