Watch Kanye West's Mom Fly To Heaven In New "Only One" Trailer
When Kanye West unveiled The Life Of Pablo at Madison Square Garden back in February of this year, he used the event to showcase a number of artistic endeavors, including his Yeezy Season 3 collection and a video game titled Only One, inspired by his late mother, Donda West. Now, a full trailer for the video game has debuted at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (commonly known as E3) in Los Angeles. The 51-second clip doesn't offer any gameplay footage, instead displaying some of the same footage we were shown during Kanye's TLOP debut: angels taking flight through a beautiful sky as Donda ascends to the gates of heaven.
Only One is a collaborative project with Los Angeles-based animation studio Encyclopedia Pictura, whose other clients include Bjork and Grizzly Bear. According to YouTube Live at E3 host Geoff Keighley, Kanye has been working on the game for over a year, and showed private demo versions of it to game developers at last year's E3.
A quick visit to Pictura's website about Only One doesn't offer up much about the game, except that it's under the direction of Isaiah Saxon and Sean Hellfritsch. So, inevitably, we have some questions about the game, which are below:
1. What other video games inspired Only One? Were we the only ones (pun not intended) that got Ico vibes?2. What platforms will the game be on? Will he attempt to revive the Neo Geo and have it released as an exclusive on the system?
3. What will the gameplay be like? Will it be third-person, first-person or a combination of the two?
4. When will the game be released?
Honestly, we can't wait to try out Only One whenever it does drop (although a lot of people are already voicing their displeasure with the game on Twitter). Because why would you not want to play as Kanye's mom as she rides to heaven on a majestic horse? Exactly.
