The Rootsand the Lin-Manuel Miranda musical Hamilton have both done a lot torepresent hip-hop to disparate audiences, and they continued on Sunday night with a musical called "The Evolution of Greatness" at NBA All-Star Game.
After an introduction by Black Thought, Jidenna,Hamiltonand Blackish co-star Daveed Diggs,Darryl "DMC" McDaniels of Run-DMCandMichael B. Jordan, with DJing by DJ Jazzy Jeff, each took turns in a musical, honoring the greatest players in NBA history and chronicling the last 40 years of the sport. Each of the evening's rhymersthen came together for a final united stand to answer the question of who is the greatest.
After the musical itself, The Roots continued performing as Black Thought gave triumphant introductions for each of theNBA All-Stars players for the evening.
