Pass The Popcorn: A Whitney Houston Documentary Is In The Works

At some point in what we hope is the very near future, a documentary treatment of Whitney Houston's life will reportedly make its way to BBC Two. According to PitchforkKurt & Courtney director Nick Broomfield (who was also at the helm for the Biggie And Tupac doc) will be taking the reins of this project, which promises it will be as hard-hitting as they get. Those that have actually seen Kurt & Courtney, know damn-well the type of truth-seeking Broomfield's after: the type that causes old spouses to file suit for accusing them of having a hand in their ex's death (which typically makes for a great film.)

There's yet to be any sort of finite timeline for the film's release, but you can be sure that we'll have our heads on a swivel for updates on the release. In the meantime, we'd suggest a rigorous listening regiment of Whitney's expansive catalogue, just so you're ready for the imminent heartbreak of a film of this weight. Oh, and cross your fingers along with all of the Okayplayers of the world that a long-rumored hologram tour of the late Whitney Houston never actually comes to fruition.
