Will Smith Picks The Mic Back Up, Raps On Bomba Estereo's "Fiesta" Remix

Welcome to the weekend, y'all. After years spent taking a break from music to focus on acting, parenting and possibly rebooting the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air series, Will Smith has returned to rapping in a most unexpected way. The 47-year-old's new bars come by way of a new remix of "Fiesta," the vibrant electro-Cumbia tune from Colombian indie dance act Bomba Estéreo.

Bomba's sound is positively infectious--a blend of shimmering Latin percussion and sub-bass pulled straight out of the global club circuit, and while the original "Fiesta" recording was already a breakneck wonder to behold, the addition of Big Will puts it all over the top. A tiny instrumental intro is all it takes to set the stage, and as soon as we hear the Fresh Prince call out "Hola mamacita," it's so very, very on.

“When I was told that Will Smith wanted to collaborate on a remix with Bomba, I couldn’t believe it,” said Bomba Estereo founder and bassist Simon Mejia. “This opportunity to work with Will was beyond anything we have dreamed of… It’s just magic.” Listen to the band's remix of "Fiesta" ft. Will Smith below, and pick up a copy of their latest LP Amanecer on iTunes today.
