William Bell & The Stax Music Academy x Snoop Dogg - "I Forgot To Be Your Lover"
Snoop Dogg has teamed with the Stax Music Academy and Stax recording artist William Bell for a remake of his 1968 single "I Forgot To Be Your Lover." The rework of the track is featured on the soundtrack to the Memphis music documentary Take Me To The River from director Martin Shore. The soundtrack, much like the film, champions the rich heritage of the Memphis music scene. Shore explains the importance of the soundtrack, which arrives on September 9th via Stax Records:
"The album is a journey, a celebration of collaboration," says TAKE ME TO THE RIVER director and filmmaker Martin Shore. "Memphis and Mississippi Delta music legends together with a stellar collection of modern rap and R&B stars take you on a quintessential journey into America's soul."
