Williams was the first person arrested and charged in connection with the then 20-year-old artist's killing. The fourth and last suspect, Trayvon Newsome, was tracked down and arrested last week.
Williams filed documents last week, obtained by The Blast, requesting the court to grant him a private investigator. His attorney has reportedly identified a private investigator who can work the case, but they need the court's permission to authorize a $10,000 payment for the services.
The suspect also wants permission to hire an expert for cell phone tower analysis and cell phone forensics, charging that the evidence would be critical in him receiving a fair trial.
A judge has yet to rule on Williams’ request.
