Mike Vick's Advice for Colin Kaepernick: Cut Your Hair
UPDATE: Colin Kaepernick has responded to Mick Vick's remarks about cutting off his afro.
Although not a direct response, Kaepernick took to his Twitter to post the definition of Stockholm Syndrome, the psychological term used to describe when hostages begin to identify with or support their captors, usually because of survival instincts. Kaepernick's rebuttal reflects some of the criticism Vick faced after making the remark, with many accusing him of respectability politics.

We are two months from the start of the NFL season, and former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick still doesn't have a team.
And chances are he won't be on a team next year.
A good portion of fans including Spike Lee believe that he is getting blackballed, that this is how NFL owners are responding to his protests last year, in which he kneeled during the national anthem before games.

One person who doesn't believe this: ex-superstar quarterback Mike Vick. On Monday, he appeared on Fox Sports' Speak for Yourself show. They spent a good amount of time talking about Colin Kaepernick not being on a team. Vick's advice? It's time for Kaep to cut his afro.
Here is what he said:
The first thing we got to get Colin to do is cut his hair. Listen, Im not up here to try to be politically correct, but even if he puts cornrows in it, I dont think he should represent himself in that way in terms of just a hairstyle. Just go clean cut. Why not? Youre already dealing with a lot of controversy surrounding this issue. What he needs to do is just try to be presentable."
In 2007, Vick got sentenced to 18 months in prison for his role in a dogfighting ring. During that time, while he was still playing for the Atlanta Falcons, Vick rockedbraids. By the time he came home, in 2009, Vick, who was trying to prove he was rehabilitated, cut his hair.
What makes this interesting: After the quote about his hair, Vick goes on to say that he believes that the reason Kaep doesn't have a job is because of his lackluster play, not his protesting.
If this was true why would Kaep's hair even matter?
