Drake Curse Over! The Toronto Raptors Defeat the Golden State Warriors to Win the 2019 NBA Finals

Update: Drake has announced that he is releasing two new songs to celebrate The Raptors winning the 2019 NBA title.

One of the tracks will feature Rick Ross.

Raptors take the throne from the Warriors.

We have a new NBA champ. The Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors 114-110, denying the Warriors the opportunity to win a third championship in a row.

The Raptors, who won the series in six games, were led by star Kawhi Leonard, who scored 22 points and took home the NBA Finals MVP trophy. Making that feat even more remarkable is the fact that this is Leonard's first season with the Raptors. (He was traded to the Raptors last summer; it's not clear if he will resign with the team.)

The Raptors defeated an all-time great Warriors team — one that has gone to five straight NBA Finals. However, the Warriors have been badly hobbled by injuries: in game five Kevin Durant suffered a torn Achilles. And in this game, Klay Thomspn left with an injury.

This led to Seph Curry having to try and take the offensive load. He struggled, scoring only four points in the quarter. Next season the Warriors are moving their arena from Oakland to San Francisco, so this was the final game in Oracle Arena.

Drake, who in some instances has been the star of the playoffs, wasn't in Oakland to see the Raptors win. He was in Toronto celebrating with the fans.
