Anderson .Paak Said it Took Kendrick Lamar More than a Year to Record his Verse for "Tints"

Anderson .Paak is getting ready to drop the album of the year.
Anderson .Paak's new album, Oxnard, will drop on November 16th. It's easily one of the most anticipated albums of the year.
On Tuesday (November 6th) Paak appeared on the Angie Martinez Show. He dropped a bunch of new details about his upcoming album.

In particular, Anderson .Paak dropped details about the features on his album. Features on Oxnard include Q-Tip, Snoop Dogg, Pusha-T, and Dr. Dre.
Oh and there's Kendrick Lamar, who appears on the hit "Tints." Speaking about how that song came about, .Paak said that he sent it to Kendrick and it took him a "year-and-a-half" to send his verse back. Paak said, "I almost lost hope." Paak added that he was happy with the finished product.
Paak also talked about how he got J. Cole on the album. Cole talked to Dr. Dre, who mastered the album, and he set it up:
It was unfinished, so I needed something. He was in town when I was working on it— I was wrapping it up. And I was like, 'if you around pull up.' And he pulled right up.

Another interesting thing: .Paak revealed that he and Chance The Rapper have "a bunch of stuff that we've worked on" in the stash. Maybe the next album?
