This week we’re back serving up the newest videos that we felt inclined enough to share here. One select that’s a standout this week includes doechii’s “Girls” visual, in it the singer-rapper is seen getting in her vocal bag: she sings a bit but she also raps towards the end. Overall, the video makes it clear that the Tampa-bred artist is a rap chameleon and she’s one that we’ll continue keeping our eyes on.
Next up we’re feeling Nas’ cinematic video for his new single “Rare” off of his new album King’s Disease II. Shot in black and white the clip includes him in various settings. In one scene he’s relaxing in an apartment, while in the next scene there’s a fisheye lens that focuses on him intensely. There’s another scene that appears to be the climax where he plays chess, he ultimately wins.
The Weeknd also surprise dropped a new track by unveiling a new video. The song titled “Take My Breath.” In the clip he’s serving apocalyptic realness and he’s also seen with a strange mask that appears to give him enough energy to get from one party to another (strange). By the end, he’s left alone on a crowded dance floor breathless. Regardless, The Weeknd always knows how to capture and keep everyone’s attention, this single is proof of that.
We couldn’t close the week out without KenTheMan, a firecracker from Texas that we’ve been paying attention to for a minute. In her new video for her single “I’m Perfect,” she showcases her vocal prowess and Southern cadence. This release is the follow-up to her last single “WTF.”
Additional selects from The Weeknd, KenTheMan, Tobi, Mick Jenkins, Fredo and more also caught our eye this week.
