Best Videos Of The Week: Megan Thee Stallion, Lakeyah, Gucci Mane And More
Our favorite videos of the week are made up of selects from Megan Thee Stallion, Fivio Foreign, K Camp and more. Lakeyah's "Poppin" visual featuring Gucci Mane is a must-watch.
This week was a long one. The only thing that got us through was the hope that Friday would finally arrive, thankfully, some of our favorites blessed us with some music videos worth paying attention to.
For instance, Megan Thee Stallion gave her stans (including me) a cinematic, well-executed visual for "Movie" off of her debut album "Good News." And Chris Brown in an obvious attempt to chart on Billboard's Hot 100 has unveiled a video for the "Go Crazy" remix. Lakeyah links up with Gucci Mane, a rapper she admires for her new "Poppin" video.
As always, since R&B is a soft spot for some of us here, K Camp, Jacquees, and emerging singer Ruth B. also released new videos that were worth a shout-out.
Keep scrolling to take a look at our selects for the best videos of the week.
Megan Thee Stallion – “Movie Ft. Lil Durk”
If you were a strip club fanatic pre-COVID then Megan Thee Stallion’s “Movie” video will probably be triggering. It’s packed with strippers from P-Valley's the Pynk, wads of cash, and her fiery flow that keeps fans coming back for more.
Lakeyah – "Poppin Ft. Gucci Mane"
Lakeyah is non-stop with the visuals, singles and content from her newest EP In Due Time. For her latest video featuring Gucci Mane, she shines and we’re excited to continue watching her thrive.
Chris Brown – “Go Crazy Remix Ft. Young Thug, Future, Lil Durk & Mulatto”
For some reason Chris Brown is flying in his video for the remix to his 2020 smash hit “Go Crazy.” Also, Mulatto is in a padded room, Lil Durk is in therapy, and Future is being himself standing in a blizzard.
Jacquees – “No More Parties (Quemix) Ft. Erica Banks”
Jacquees keeps sharing remixes to songs he enjoys, and we’re not mad at that. For his rendition of “No More Parties,” he’s joined by Texas rapper Erica Banks.
K Camp – “Drop My Feelings”
Atlanta staple K Camp is still making good music in case you thought he’d disappeared. “Drop My Feelings” is his latest visual, it serves as somewhat of a visual diary.
Big Jade – “Bonnet Freestyle”
Over the “Hot Boyz” beat first made famous by Timbaland, Texas MC Big Jade serves up bars that led us directly into a rabbit hole where we discovered her other freestyles. “Bonnet Freestyle” is short but it gets the job done.
Fivio Foreign – “Self Made”
Fivio Foreign is easily one of the best drill rappers contributing to the sub-genre right now. “Self Made” is an aggressive track, and the video is laid back rather than flashy.
Ruth B. – “Situation”
Ruth B.'s "Situation" is a smooth track that gives a glimpse into what her upcoming album Moments In Between will sound like. The new single also packs a relaxing, calming vibe.
Bankroll Freddie – “Pop It Ft. Megan Thee Stallion”
Arkansas rapper Bankroll Freddie is a signee that Quality Control is willing to bet on right now. For his “Pop It” video Megan Thee Stallion is the highlight, but Freddie also commands the beat on this cut. Also, the beat is fire. This dropped last Friday but we decided to throw it on this week's roundup.
Common - "What Do You Say (Move it Baby) Feat. PJ"
Common drops a video from his latest project, A Beautiful Revolution Part 1. The video culminates in a skating rink party with the two artists performing their new single, joining the video's protagonist.
