Best Videos To Drop Last Week: Drake, Westside Gunn, Logic & More
Last week video releases from Drake, Westside Gunn, The Weeknd, Logic, and more were on our radar.
Drake connects with Popcaan for "We Caa Done," a catchy single.
Logic drops off "Insipio," while Queen Naija shares a video for "Let's Talk About It."
And Westside Gunn reveals his latest "Super Kick Party."
Drake, Popcaan - “We Caa Done”
For his latest feature, Drake joins PopCaan for a cinematic, star-studded adventure in Turks and Caicos. Throughout the song, the two are seen enjoying the sun, the women, and the overall energy that the country offers up willingly. The vibes form the backdrop for PopCaan and Drake’s performances.
Logic – “Insipio”
Logic utilizes a 360 camera and sleek editing to further emphasize his recording process. By doing so, he allows viewers inside his world and his attachment to hip-hop. This makes for a great watch despite the video falling under the two-minute mark.
Westside Gunn – “Super Kick Party”
In Westside Gunn’s “Super Kick Party” video, the heart of hip-hop is showcased via the dancer that’s spotlighted for much of it. Juxtaposed alongside a neighborhood block, Westside Gunn’s
hard-hitting lyricism is essential from start to finish.
Queen Naija – “Let’s Talk About It”
Queen Naija’s latest “Let’s Talk About It” directed by Sara Lacombe begins with the singer kidnapping her lover Lil Meech. For most of the video, she confronts him about his daily contradictions in their love life – she also looks to hold him accountable for his actions. It’s a catchy single.
The Weeknd – “Is There Someone Else”
The Weeknd uses the contrast of darkness and light to tease the dangerous art of seduction and obsession. He tells this story from his vantage point where he receives a peep show, then there’s also another moment of a stalker taking boudoir photographs of the same woman from afar. Overall, the video is a bit sadistic, especially the ending.
