Cardi B is the Newest Member of the 'Fast & Furious' Universe

Vin Diesel broke the news on Instagram. Cardi B joins Ozuna and John Cena as newcomers to the series.

Cardi B's stint on the silver screen is just getting started.

After her appearance as Diamond in the Lorene Scafaria-directed drama Hustlers, the Bronx MC is set to join the cast of Fast & Furious 9. Vin Diesel dropped the bombshell in an Instagram post on Tuesday, October 22nd. "I ain't gonna front," Cardi said in the video, "I think this is going to be the best one."

Justin Lin will return to direct the film. Lin directed the series' sixth installment in 2013. Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges are returning to the franchise. John Cena and reggaeton artist Ozuna will make their first appearances in the Fast universe.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson — star of the franchise's first spinoff, Hobbes and Shaw — will not be joining the star-studded cast. Fast and Furious 9 is set for release on May 2020.
