Emerging Singer Jenevieve Releases Laid-Back Video for New Single "Baby Powder"
The track follows her last song "Medallion" which arrived in February.
Los Angeles-based singer Jenevieve has finally given fans a brand new track “Baby Powder” along with a music video.
The rising songbird previously dropped her first single “Medallion” back in February. As a newbie on the scene, she’s creating her own path by rolling out deep cuts inspired by R&B, soul and also disco. At just 22, the Miami native sticks out amongst a slew of singers who are actively searching for a niche within R&B and neo-soul.
“Baby Powder” produced by Jean Benz is filled with mellow vibes. The visual is directed by Khufu Najee and showcases the different moods of the singer. For the FADER, Jenevieve shed light on the significance of her new single:
"'Baby Powder' is a little taste of what my first love and heartbreak were like. Typical shit. I thought I found someone special, and I was so down for him but he was keeping secrets from me and I had nothing to hide. But you know when guys or people in general just start to blame shit on you, cause they did some dirty shit themselves? Well, yeah, that's 'Baby Powder.'"
Jenevieve is also a trained dancer with Cuban, Bahamian, French and Spanish roots. There’s no doubt that these influences are ingrained in her. “Medallion” and “Baby Powder” both provide a clear perspective of what fans can expect from her in the coming months. Her eclectic sound points to why we’ll be waiting for what comes next from this emerging songstress.
