Jorja Smith Shares "Addictive" New Video, Shot Entirely on Macbook Photo Booth
Jorja Smith co-directs the video for her first single of 2021.
On Wednesday, UK-bred singer Jorja Smith released the video for "Addicted," her first single of 2021. Smith co-directed the video with Savanah Leaf, and shot it entirely via MacBook Photo Booth. Stream the video below.
The video features multiple changes of setting and wardrobe, alternating between the typical cozy quarantine wear to more high-end attire. We follow Jorja as she enjoys fireworks, goes on a drive, and makes time for a horseback photoshoot.
2020 was--understandably--pretty quiet for Jorja. She released three singles: "By Any Means," "Come Over" with Popcaan, and "Kiss Me in the Morning." She also released a cover of St. Germain's "Rose Rouge." Smith also appeared on a remix to London rapper Enny's "Peng Black Girls."
In a press release, Smith said "Addicted" is about "focusing on wanting the full attention of someone who's not giving enough (or any) when they should be. The video is multiple versions of me singing the song, having fun dressing up, not trying to be too serious and just giving myself more freedom."
Jorja Smith also appeared on Blue Note Records' Blue Note Re:Imagined and Roc Nation's Reprise: A Roc Nation Album. The latter project raised proceeds for The Gathering For Justice, Until Freedom, Equal Justice Initiative, Grassroots Law Project and NACDL Foundation for Criminal Justice.
Stream "Addicted," "By Any Means," "Come Over" and "Kiss Me in the Morning" on all major digital streaming platforms.
