The track appears on the soundtrack of the Netflix original film The Black Godfather.

Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo recently reunited for "Letter to my Godfather," from the soundtrack of The Black Godfather. On Wednesday night, the Neptunes frontman performed the triumphant anthem as The Late Show's musical guest.

The Black Godfather tells the story of Clarence Avant, one of the first black executives in the modern music business. Avant managed dozens of artists during his career, and famously orchestrated the first joint venture between an African-American artist and a major record company.

The Black Godfather is available for streaming on Netflix.
