On Thursday, Maryland MC Cordae dropped Just Until...Along with the project, his first since the Grammy-nominated 2019 album The Lost Boy, he dropped the video for "More Life," a new single featuring Q-Tip. Check out the new video below.
In the video, Cordae re-visits his hometown of Suitland, Maryland. He takes the camera crew through his old middle school, neighborhood, and the college he dropped out of, greeting fans and unfamiliar students alike.
Q-Tip couldn't make the trip, but shares a wholesome moment with Cordae towards the end.
"You giving back to me," he says over the phone. "That's the exchange. I'm not trying to son you, I'm trying to stand next to the sun and get the light from you."
2020 was a pretty quiet year for Cordae, who spent the year doing features with names like Amine, H.E.R., and Roddy Ricch. Aside from that, he appeared alongside Stevie Wonder, Rapsody, Chika and Busta Rhymes for the protest-inspired "Can't Put it in the Hands of Fate."
In mid-July, Cordae was arrested along with NFL player Kenny Stills, rapper Trae tha Truth, and a total of 87 others at a protest in support of Breonna Taylor outside of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron's home.
As for Q-Tip, the Abstract recently announced season two of his Abstract Radio podcast. In an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, he promised each guest on the new season would be in the Native Tongues family tree.
The four-track project also features a guest appearance from Young Thug.
