Tearful Adele Breaks "Album of the Year" Grammy In Half, Shares With Beyonce

Deeply embedded in the three-hour highlight reel of the 59th Annual Grammy Awards was a touching moment between a trophy leader, Adele, and a queen, BeyonceAccepting the golden gramophone for "Album of the Year," the British hit-factory welled up in admiration of the woman she assumed would be taking home the prize (who also happened to be sitting front and center,) dubbing her "the artist of my life," and, in a moment that wasn't captured on-camera, apparently broke her Grammy in half, sharing it with the mommy-to-be-twice-over.

It's unclear whether Adele had intentionally broke her Grammy, but her acceptance speech was nothing short of heartfelt, tears in her eyes the whole way through. Adele took home five statues last night for "Record of the Year," "Song of the Year," "Best Pop Vocal Album," "Pop Solo Performance," and finally, "Album Of The Year," bring her career stat sheet to 15 total over 18 nominations. Beyonce took home two awards of her own last night for "Best Urban Contemporary Album" and "Best Music Video" bringing her career total to a whopping 22 Grammys in the bag (the sixth most by any artist ever) and is the most nominated woman in Grammys history.
