The return of P & The Yessirs is upon us
Over the last few weeks, we've unpacked a lengthy interview with Questlove from behind-the-scene at Roots Picnic 2017. What would have otherwise been a standalone has bloomed into something much more comprehensive and life-affirming, detailing The Roots' come-up from seed to perennial hip-hop powerhouse, a life-threatening onstage moment and the band's recent expansion, welcoming producer Stro Elliot to the troupe in parts one through three of a special five-part installment of The Questions.

In today's episode, Questo reveals that well before taking the stage with Roots Picnic headliner, Pharrell, in Philly, their paths had crossed thrice over. First, for The Roots' very purple remix album of Pharrell's solo debut In My Mind, linking years later for a project that was eventually shelved, and once more recently, when Skateboard P bestowed Questo and The Roots with the stems and masters to his Motown-leaning Hidden Figures compositions for the group to remake in the key of The Yessirs.

He'd stop short at giving a precise date on the release, but does go on to claim a potential Black Friday drop could be on the way.
