Southern son Chaz Bundick (Toro Y Moi) just dropped the tripped-out video for his third single "Rose Quartz" off the critically acclaimed Anything In Return LP, the follow up to 2011's breakout Underneath The Pines. The psychedelic electronic artist has had a string of successful gushy singles off the new album, but "Rose Quartz" struts the stuff that separates him from your run-of-the-mill electronic producers and songwriters. His bedtime mixes are exactly what the doctor ordered, steering clear of corny EDM-centric tonality and redundancy, while blending the programming prowess of Prince with some of the strongest R&B sensibilities this side of the 21st century.
With golden embellishment and brush strokes galore, Bundick stays true to his sonic stamp, varnishing his patented electronic tones with fantastic pastel hues. That in mind, Chaz has put forth a video that is wholly immersive, animated and oozing in the plush imagery of a lucid dreamscape that induces those late-night, haze filled types of sentiments.
