In the past two weeks, Tyler, the Creator has launched a new album rollout with teasers, billboards, and now two official videos. After dropping "LUMBERJACK" last week, Tyler returned on Tuesday with "WUSYANAME." The track once again features DJ Drama's signature drops. Check out the video below.
The video follows Tyler on a road trip, where he cruises down scenic valleys and coastal highways in a Lancia Delta Intergrale, set to pursue the love interest from the "Side Street" snippet from last week. Tyler pleads his case at a lush estate, before she ultimately spurns him for her beau.
Director of photography Luis Panch Perez and Happy Place founder/producer Tara Razavi team up again for the new video.
Call Me if You Get Lost is set to drop Friday, June 25th. The project, his sixth album, seems to be a Gangsta Grillz project in full, with DJ Drama fueling that speculation by replying to a tweet from Andrew Barber expressing his interest in a project from the two.
From the first two singles, the album seems to be a clear departure from 2019's IGOR. As early as 2014, he told Larry King he "hated rapping," saying the genre "puts you in this box." "I'm talented enough to do other things," he continued. "I don't know, I'm pretty bored with it. It's not interesting. In the future, I want to do films. I want people to mention my name next to Wes Anderson or Quentin Tarantino. I don't want my name to be mentioned next to other rappers at all."
From the looks of it, he's changed his mind. Stream Call Me if You Get Lost on Friday, June 25th.
