Usher Struggles With Old Demons in the "Bad Habits" Video
Usher drops the video for his fourth official single of 2020.
Usher has slowly been making his way back into the spotlight. On Wednesday night, the Grammy-winning singer dropped the video for "Bad Habits," his fourth single of the year. Chris Robinson handled directorial duties. Stream the full video below.
"I love love," he wrote on Instagram, "but I'm just bad at it." The track follows a familiar theme, as Usher and a lover attempt to work through conflict and his struggles with commitment.
Chris Robinson's cinematography highlights Usher's dance moves, as well as visual depictions of the mental struggles explored throughout the song. Robinson's catalog includes major videos like like Jay-Z and Beyonce's "03 Bonnie & Clyde," Snoop Dogg and Pharrell's "Beautiful," Usher and Alicia Keys' "My Boo," and many more.
Fans in need of a full Usher project are in luck, as he is reportedly in the process of recording his ninth studio album, which is untitled as of now. However, with the release of "Bad Habits," pre-sale tickets just went live for his forthcoming Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace. The show starts on July 16, 2021.
This year alone, Usher has dropped four total singles. After the Ludacris-Nelly Verzuz battle, he released a previously-unheard reunion track with Ludacris and Lil' Jon, "SexBeat." He followed it up with "California" featuring Tyga, the Black Lives Matter tribute "I Cry," and now "Bad Habits." Stay tuned for further updates regarding Usher's forthcoming album.
