Watch Missy Elliott Perform All Her Greatest Hits at the 2019 VMAS
Missy Elliott hit the VMAs stage for the first time in more than 15 years.
Well, that was amazing.
Hip-hop legend Missy Elliott received the MTV Video Vanguard Award at the 2019 VMAs. Before she went on stage and accepted her award, she did a melody of her greatest hits from "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)," "Get Ur Freak On," "Lose Control," "Hot Boyz," and more. (A really cool moment came when Alyson Stoner, the dancer in the "Lose Control" video, came out and danced.)
After he performance, there was a video tribute to Missy, featuring everyone from Janet Jackson to Timbaland.
After, Cardi B introduced Missy, calling her a "living legend" repeatedly. And, at one point, admitting that "everybody has copied from Missy Elliott, even me."
During her speech, Missy sent love to everyone from Timbaland to Hype Williams to Janet Jackson to Aaliyah. She also had special shout outs to Busta Rhymes and Madonna for their videos.
